A Schöpf-Merei Ágost Kórház és Anyavédelmi Központ épülete a Bakáts téren 2012-ben. A gyermekgyógyászatra és szülészetre (kiemelten koraszülésre) specializálódott kórház 2009-ben szűnt meg.

Mintegy 500 ember tüntetett a Városháza előtt a Schöpf-Merei Ágost Kórház bezárása ellen, amely az első, koraszülöttek ellátását biztosító intézmény volt az országban. 11 500 aláírással petíciót adtak át a Demszky Gábor főpolgármesternek. Az akciót többek között a Nagycsaládosok Országos Egyesülete és a Magyar Nők Szövetsége támogatták. Szeptember végén a Fővárosi Közgyűlés úgy döntött, hogy a kórház tovább működhet, de jelentős ágyszámcsökkentéssel.
